Researchers by Aftab Ala, MD of Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, resulted examined the prevalence and potential clustering of PBC near most toxic waste sites in New York City, the state – designated SFS. The researchers collected data on 172 patients zip code in New York City in need of orthotopic liver transplantation between 1995 and 2003, either because of PBC or primary sclerosing cholangitis .
